Bicycling is a sport known world-wide, technically rich, and practiced in many different ways depending on the itinerary. The feet and legs are the principal limbs used. These determine the performance and also support the torso which is often in an aero dynamical position.
The knees must be very flexible, in order to reinforce the leg muscles; a movement which undergoes many repetitive movements resulting in injuries, mostly to the patella. The weight is centered on the hips, which need good reinforcement.
The risk of injury increases with the strain on the muscles while going up or down a hill or on irregular terrain. This sport challenges the knee joints, the hips and the spinal cord.
